This vision was birthed in the heart and spirit of our founder Pastor Leon K. Shipman Sr. and his wife, Missionary Dian Shipman, one day while preparing for service, the Lord spoke to him declaring that now is the time!!! Walk in the Spirit was birthed, and ministry has continued to progress.  Pastors, Prophets, and Bishops have been birthed out of this ministry as well as ministers trained and developed to encourage the people of God in pursuit of walking in the spirit.

For 22 years, Pastor Leon Shipman and Elect Lady Dian, has poured into countless lives of men, women and children.  They have stood the test of time and have established themselves as generals of the Gospel and have fruit in their lives that testify of God’s continued grace on their lives.

In the year 2018, confirmation came that it was time to pass the mantle to their middle son, Prophet Ray Shipman.  The body of Walk In The Spirit rallied behind the vision and the direction that Prophet Ray feels God is directing the body to walk in. Changing the hearts and minds as well as activating the things that have been sown in the last 22 years…producing fruit, encouraging the saints and empowering believers to evangelize the sinner.

With several different programs and trainings in prophetic ministry, evangelism as well as gospel preaching, the ministry has continued to reach several churched and unchurched people. Pastor Nakeya Shipman, his wife, is the body life pastor of Walk in the Spirit, and ministers alongside her husband in grace and power, carrying a prophetic mantel that will challenge the hearts and thinking of men and women!!!

what we believe

Regarding the Word of God/Bible

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.

Regarding the Trinity

We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and, God the Holy Spirit.

Regarding the Rapture

We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.

We believe in the Personal, visible imminent return of Jesus Christ.

Regarding Salvation

We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.

We believe that salvation is a free gift, received by faith through accepting Jesus as Lord and saviour and as described in Romans 10:9 & 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Regarding the Body of Christ

We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

We believe the Body of Christ is a mixed body of people who are mature, immature, sanctified and unsanctified, teachers and students.  We Endeavor to assist in areas of maturity as well as sanctification but allow God to be the one to mature and establish His people.

Regarding Redemptive Work

We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. Healing & Deliverance is provided in the redemptive work of Christ & is available to every believer. Deliverance is the children’s bread; thus, we believe that the continued work of sanctification is a gift given through our commitment to our relationship with  God shown through freedom from bondages.

Regarding The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

We believe the infilling of the Holy Spirit is an experience subsequent to salvation, & that it is the will of God that all be filled. We believe in the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of tongues but do not believe that it is the ONLY evidence of the infilling.  The fruit of the spirit is the evidence that the Holy Spirit has been planted inside of us! We do believe that the believer is baptized in the Holy Spirit at salvation based on Colossians 2:9, For in Christ dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

Regarding Sanctification and Ordnances

We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by who’s indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world.

We believe in the observance of Water Baptism, the Lord's Supper, Foot washing, Anointing with Oil & the Laying on of Hands.
